League officials have decided to pause the start of the 2020-21 season in view of the current public health circumstances.

The season will not start before Saturday, November 28 and confirmation of that or an extension of the pause will be considered at a meeting during the week beginning Monday, November 9.

The Highland League season was due to start on Saturday, October 17 with a home game for Formartine who faced Huntly and Deveronvale who were set to take on Rother.

Both Turriff United and Inverurie Loco's were lined up for away matches at Forres Mechanics and Brora Rangers respectively.

A spokesman for the Highland League said: "The league management committee undertook a careful and detailed consideration of the current situation and felt that, all things considered, a pause was the most appropriate course of action."
