BUCKIE Thistle were on the wrong end of a seven-goal thumping at new leaders Brora Rangers on Saturday.

Jay Cheyne was sent off in Buckie Thistle's 7-0 defeat at Brora Rangers.

The battle of the Highland League's top two turned out to be a one-sided affair in favour of the Sutherland hosts.

Brora has seven different scorers in their 7-0 romp over Jags.

Jordan Macrae scored an early penalty and Ally MacDonald made it two before as superb Gavin Morrison free kick took the score to 3-0 at half time.

Buckie's uphill task became even harder when Jay Cheyne was shown a straight red card for a late tackle.

The home side immediately added a fourth through Colin Williamson's header from a corner.

Buckie heads went down and Andy Macrae, Tom Kelly and player boss Steven MacKay completed the drubbing.

Buckie drop to third after Inverurie Locos beat Clach 4-1 to join Brora in a share of the leadership.

Greg Mitchell, Jonny Smith (penalty), Ryan Stott and Calum Dingwall hit the Locos goals before Martin Callum got a Clach consolation.

Forres Mechanics' good recent revival continued with a thumping 6-1 success over Huntly.

It was a sixth win in seven outings for the Cans, and they didn't even need top scorer Stuart Soane on the scoresheet.

Ross County loan youngster Declan Hughes struck an early brace and Robbie Duncanson's spectacular strike into the top corner made it 3-0 on 16 minutes.

Allan Macphee fired in at the near post to give Forres a 4-0 half time advantage.

Jordan Milne netted his first of the campaign a minute after half time and although Declan Milne pulled one back from the spot for Huntly, sub Lee Fraser wrapped up the scoring with a shot on the turn.

Lossiemouth got another point on the board as well as a satisfying defensive clean sheet as they held Nairn County to a 0-0 draw at Grant Park.

Lossie striker Kris Duncan also made his comeback as a second half sub after two months out injured.

Keith were on course to make it three wins in a row until they were hit by a late, late show from visitors Wick Academy.

After a goalless first 45 minutes at Kynoch Park, Keith took a 2-0 leads through counters by Michael Selfridge and Craig Macaskill.

The Maroons held that advantage until the closing five minute, with Gary Manson pulling one back from the penalty spot.

Deep into injury time Wick's Jack Henry pounced with an equaliser to deny the home side all three points.

Rothes' home game with Fort William and Formartine United's trip to Strathspey Thistle were postponed.
