October this year is set to see the Banks family and friends participate in the long postponed 2019/20 Scottish finals at West of Scotland Stadium in Glasgow.

Many thought this weekend would never happen because of the Covid restrictions, and closure of all stadia from March 2020 until last month.

Garioch are involved in the semi final of both the Scottish Pairs and Fours.

Father Colin, with son, Jason are in the Scottish Pairs and meet East Lothian’s Stewart Kennedy and Billy Mellors, both seasoned internationalists.

This will be a tough match with the winners playing either Blantyre or Midlothian (again full of internationalists) in the final.

The Scottish Fours semi final has another Garioch representative team in the shape of Alan Rough, Lee Collins, Colin Banks and Jason Banks, as skip.

This quartet meet Midlothian, who have Duncan, Peacock(Snr), Peacock (jnr) and Walker, all current or former internationalists.

The Garioch Pair play on Saturday morning with the Fours in the afternoon and if successful would play 2 finals on the Sunday.

Looking at the Playdowns for the 2021/22 season the same names are taking a similar pattern to 19/20 with Jason Banks representing the GIBC in Singles and he will be leading the Fours along with Brian Reid, Colin Banks and Lee Collins.

Season 2020/21 has been blanked out.

SIBA President Bruce Will of SIBA, a Garioch Club member, brings his 2nd term to a finish by hosting the Scottish League Finals at Garioch

The Garioch have the honour of hosting the Gents League Finals on April 2nd 2022.

This is a team event showing the best of bowling in Scotland, and is as a result of Club member Bruce Will, who was the President of Scottish Indoor Bowling Association.
