Formartine United add to defence with latest signing

Formartine United's preparations for the new Highland League season have continued with the signing of Lucas Smith from Montrose.

Smith (17) plays in central defence and was previously part of the Montrose under 20 side.

He is the North Lodge Park side's fourth summer signing with striker Julian Wade, defender Matthew McLean and midfielder Mark Gallagher also joining.

A busy time at United has seen former Huntly manager Martin Skinner appointed as assistant manager.

There have also been departures with Mourad Ahmanache moving to junior team Bridge of Don Thistle and Liam Strachan has signed for Turriff United.

Meanwhile, United have commenced their pre-season training programme and their first match is away to Montrose on Saturday, June 25.

The club has announced it has frozen its season ticket and gate charges for the upcoming season.
