Portsoy move off bottom of Moray welfare football league table after victory over Lossiemouth United Amateurs while Fochabers stay top after seven-goal salvo at Craigellachie
Off the bottom of the table after their first win of the season.
Portsoy were celebrating on Friday night after notching up their maiden Moray welfare league victory of the campaign at the ninth attempt.
The Banffshire side dumped Lossie United Amateurs to the bottom after a 3-1 win over the league newcomers.
Strikes by Ronnie Vine and two from Steven Jamieson earned the first league success, with Portsoy having picked up just a point from their previous eight league fixtures. Max Whyte got the goal for the Lossiemouth youngsters.
Craigellachie were no match for league leaders Fochabers, a Michael Mortimer goal being their crumb of consolation in a 7-1 home defeat.
Lee Alexander (3), Euan Edwards (2), Jordan Clark and Stuart Harrold got the Fochabers goals.
Aberlour Villa stayed in touch with Fochabers thanks to Ruari watt’s goal in a 1-0 win over Ugie.
A Taylor Smith double and an Iain Barclay effort landed Cullen their sixth consecuitive win in all competitions, a 3-1 victory at Lhanbryde for whom Mackenzie Lawton netted.
And Hopeman were awarded a 3-0 win by default when RAF Lossiemouth couldn’t fulfil their fixture.
