PICTURES: Festive footie fun for Buckie Jags kids

THERE was festive footie fun aplenty at Buckie's all-weather pitch recently thanks to Buckie Thistle Football Development (BTFD).

With there being so many different school, club and association Christmas parties on the go the volunteers at BTFD decided they wanted to do something a bit different and came up with the idea of a Festive Fun Session.

Over 60 youngsters made their way to the pitch where loads of parent and coaches were helping on the day. The two sessions went as planned and the weather also got into the festive spirit, too with just a few showers of rain later on.

Buckie Thistle officials and first team members also turned out to help support the event. They very kindly donated some prizes and issued each child with a free ticket to any home game for them and an adult to come along.

Kids and helpers were encouraged to dress festively and had some great outfits on display. There were loads of different challenges and games for them to try, such as Crossbar Challenge, Beat The Goalie, Football Bowling, Musical Footballs and many others.

A short presentation saw prizes awarded for the best performers on the day, then had a special visit from the man in the red suit who handed out some presents to the kids.

BTFD have over 100 kids on their books who training and matches weekly throughout the season.

The organisation covers from P1 to P7 and are a parent-led organisation relying on the support of the parents to function.
