MacDonald (21), who has had spells at Caley Thistle and Peterhead in his teenage years, signed a three-year extension to keep him at Christie Park until the summer of 2025.

Robertshaw will continue to provide back-up for regular keeper Euan Storrier as his extended deal will also see him remain at the club for the next four years.

Manager Allan Hale told the club’s website that he was delighted to do business with both players.

He said of midfielder MacDonald: “He has had a frustrating season personally as he has found his game time restricted by illness and then injury however now that he is back to full fitness, he is looking forward to kicking on and regaining his place in the team.

“Since I’ve been at the club I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with Liam as he is a model professional on and off the pitch, has an excellent attitude with a keen willingness to learn and improve.

“Hopefully Liam can now kick on now that he is back to full fitness and we, as a club, see the best of him over the new few years.”

Robertshaw (20) came through the Huntly youth ranks and has enjoyed loan spells in the juniors with Glentanar and Colony Park in recent seasons..

“We, as a club, consider ourselves fortunate that we have two outstanding young goalkeepers on the books,” said Hale.

“Signing Keith on a long term extension was a priority as he is someone we have a lot of belief in and feel he will push Euan all the way for the number one jersey.

“Keith is an outstanding professional and the standards he sets himself in training is exceptional.

“He is someone that has a strong ambition to be the number one goalkeeper at the club and strong competition for places is always healthy at a club.”
