Elgin City’s Scottish Gas Scottish Cup fourth round clash with Aberdeen won’t be screened live on TV as BBC and Premier Sports pick five alternative ties





Elgin City’s massive Scottish Cup clash with Aberdeen has been snubbed by the TV channels.

Five of the 16 fourth round ties have been selected to be screened live by BBC and Premier Sports, but City’s clash with the Dons isn’t one of them.

Premier Sports have picked the all-Championship tie between Falkirk and Raith Rovers, while BBC have plumped for Highland League Brechin City’s home tie against Hearts as one of their three games.

Elgin City were expecting their home tie against the Dons to be screened live. Instead, it will go ahead on Saturday, January 18 with a 3pm kick off.

The action gets underway on Friday evening at 7:45pm, as Hearts travel to face Brechin City at Glebe Park, live on BBC Scotland.

Celtic then face Kilmarnock at Celtic Park at 5:30pm the following day at Celtic Park, live on Premier Sports.

Premier Sports will also show Falkirk's clash with Raith Rovers at the Falkirk Stadium at 12pm on Sunday, 19 January, before BBC One Scotland screen Rangers' match against Fraserburgh from Ibrox Stadium at 2:15pm.

The weekend concludes with the Dundee derby on Monday evening at 8:00pm as Dundee host Dundee United at Dens Park.
