Former Cove Rangers, Huntly and Turriff United striker Nick Gray was a two-goal hero for Dyce in their 2-1 success at Deveronvale's Princess Royal Park.

Scott Dunn pulled back a goal for Steve Dolan's side but it wasn't enough to prevent defeat in Vale's first outing of the new season.

Dyce Juniors are at home to Formartine United in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

Joining them in the last eight are Inverurie, who won by the same 2-1 scoreline against Turriff.

Andy Hunter gave Locos a half time lead at Harlaw Park, before former Aberdeen teenager Tyler Mykyta levelled things up in the second half.

The winner came from another former Pittodrie youngster and Locos newcomer Kieran Shanks, who spun to fire home midway through the second half.

Locos are away to Fraserburgh in the last eight this Saturday, while Keith take on Huntly in a tie between two sides receiving a first round bye.

The remaining quarter-final takes place on November 25 between Buckie Thistle and Aberdeen.
