Double winners Buckie Ladies set for friendly against fledgling Elgin City side

LEAGUE and cup double winners Buckie Ladies FC are set to warm up for the defence of their title with a friendly against Elgin City Ladies FC.

The newly-formed team will be heading to Portgordon this Sunday with the daunting task of taking on the Highlands and Islands League champions and League Cup winners.

The fledgling Elgin side are hoping to enter the fifth tier of Scottish women's football in August this year.

Buckie are set to begin their league campaign under way on Sunday, April 2 with a stiff test against their challengers for the title last season, Clach.

The champions are keen to hear from new players who would like to join the squad. raining sessions are usually on Tuesday evenings at Gordon Park from 6.30pm to 8pm – anyone interested is asked to message the Buckie Ladies Facebook page for more details.
