The volunteer-run club, which is primarily based at Simpson Park, is getting back to business after a coronavirus-enforced shutdown and is hoping to encourage more kids to take part in the sport.

Ashley Inglis, club secretary, said: “The club obviously had to stop during the pandemic and we were so excited to get up and running again.

“Despite routines having to change with extra hand-washing and no spectators, it’s great to see the kids back enjoying a bit of normality with their friends. They are keeping fit and enjoying the outdoors at the same time.

“We are a friendly, welcoming club and are encouraging children of all ages and abilities to come along.

“Our sessions are a mix of fitness, skills training and game time. We just want the children to get out and participate in sport.”

There is a nice mixture of boys and girls currently among the 78 children signed up with Keith and District Sports Development, with people from outwith Keith also encouraged to take part.

The club prides itself on being affordable and children can attend for two weeks as a trial period to see if they enjoy themselves before paying any membership.

Coaches are mainly parents – all of whom are PVG checked and supported to follow the SYFA pathway in coaching.
