The sides met at Victoria Park on Wednesday night with Formartine winning the last two cup clashes, but Jags had chalked up a 5-1 league win over the Pitmedden club since then.

It was heading for a goal-less first half when Sam Urquhart struck for Jags on the stroke of half time.

Two minutes after the break, former Aberdeen youngster Max Barry notched his 11th goal of the season and when Urquhart chipped in with his 12th it was 3-0 to Buckie and game over.

In the semi-finals next month, Jags will host Banks o' Dee who proved too strong for Keith at Kynoch Park.

The junior side and reigning Aberdeenshire Cup champs added the Maroons to their long list of Highland League scalps with a 6-0 victory.

Michael Philipson and Jack Henderson scored two each with Dean Lawrie and Mark Gilmour completing a bad night for Keith, who also had Liam Strachan sent off.

Huntly will host Inverurie Locos in the other semi after winning 2-0 at Deveronvale.

Goals at the start and end of the second half by Joel MacBeath and sub Cai Matthew took Allan Hale's side to victory in Banff.
