Brora Rangers return to top of the Highland League with comfortable win at Nairn County ahead of a busy night of fixtures including a Kynoch Park Moray derby





A change of leadership kicked off a midweek programme of Highland League football.

Brora Rangers bounced back from their shock defeat to Keith on Saturday with a 5-1 victory at Nairn County to return to the top of the league.

James Wallace and Tony Dingwall put the Cattachs 2-0 up inside 12 minutes at Station Park before Ben Barron pulled one back with his first Nairn goal since his permanent move from Elgin City.

The visitors stepped up their game after the break and further goals from Max Ewan, Michael Finnis and Dingwall again wrapped up a 5-1 success.

Unbeaten Brechin City will regain top spot if they win at home to Deveronvale tonight in one of seven matches being played.

There’s a Moray derby at Kynoch Park, where Keith’s hopes of building on their stunning victory at Brora are put to the test by on-form Forres Mechanics, who will look to add to four consecutive victories.

Lossiemouth could be tough opponents at Grant Park for a Formartine United side which has started poorly this term.

It could be a case of home many at Victoria Park where Buckie Thistle, fresh from netting seven at Deveronvale, should have a comfortable night at home to a Strathspey Thistle side yet to get a point on the board.

Huntly make the trip to Aberdeen to take on Banks o’ Dee while on-form Inverurie Locos face a Harlaw Park test against Turriff United.

Wick Academy make the journey down to Inverness for a match at Clachnacuddin.
