BUCKIE Ladies shook up Clach with a fighting display to claim a deserved share of the points.

The Inverness side had inflicted a 9-2 defeat on the Merson Park side a few weeks ago in a friendly, but the tables were turned on Sunday in Buckie when the hosts put on a display worthy of taking all three points.

Buckie went behind after 25 minutes, a lead that only lasted 10 minutes with Emily McAuslan netting the equaliser.

The saying that the two minutes after strike is the most dangerous for the scoring side proved true as Clach snatched back the lead.

With 10 minutes on the clock after the restart McAuslan struck again.

As Buckie laid siege to the Clach goal the visitors sneaked a third only for Laura Young to slot home a penalty with virtually the last kick of the game to equalise at 3-3 after Alena Gardiner had been hauled down by the keeper.

Buckie Ladies manager Mel Smith described her sides performance as the "best ever" by the club.

She continued: "We should've won the game, really.

"I'm so proud of the quines, they were all amazing. All the work we've put in during training has paid off and they've really progressed over the last few weeks.

"We leanred a lot from the last Clach game, where their threats lay and how to stop them. They played through the middle and we closed them down.

"Clach are also a physical side and aren't afraid to use that physicality but we stood up to them.

"The whole squad are just buzzing."

Buckie Ladies next match is a an away league clash to Sutherland, the same side they will face a week after that in the cup at Merson Park.
