Ed Burgass from Fishing TV said: "We knew how much Paul is loved by Scottish anglers and fans the world over for his fantastic Hooked series so we were keen to see if we could find them.

"The original distribution company who held the master tapes, had been sold and then it’s new owner had gone into administration so finding the tapes took quite a lot of investigation and time.

"The original master files were collecting dust in a storage unit near Heathrow, but we managed to get them and restore them back to their former glory”

For those not familiar with the shows, Young's first fishing show Hooked on Scotland which aired on the BBC, won a BAFTA and launched his prolific TV angling career producing more than 120 episodes.

The shows cover all kinds of fishing including game fishing, coarse, and saltwater and Young manages some incredible catches over the years in some of the best fishing locations out there.

Burgass added: “We’ve had some terrific feedback from viewers already who I think had given up hope of ever seeing them again.

"Paul visits some wonderful places all over Scotland meeting some real characters along the way, and these shows just haven’t dated at all."

Young appeared in well-known TV shows like Taggart and Still Game. In the early 1990s, he turned his hand to presenting angling shows, and had a successful career doing so. Now retired, he lives near Glasgow and enjoys fishing with his grandchildren.

He said: “I’m thrilled to see the shows back on TV and that they’ve been so warmly received. They bring back a lot of memories from an amazing part of my career.

"We started in Scotland and then saw so much of the world and introduced so many new species to the UK viewers. It was a real delight to be a part of.”
