Recent signing Michael Dangana's single goal proved was enough to send Huntly into the quarter-finals of the Morrison Motors (Turriff) Aberdeenshire Shield.

Turriff opened the attack with a solid effort from Matty McDonald which forced keeper Tom Ritchie into a reactionary dive to keep it clear.

Huntly's Dangana was denied by a point-blank save from Turriff keeper David Dey who was also called to save from a well struck free kick from Huntly.

The first and only goal came on 39 minutes when a shot from Huntly's Jack MacIver’s struck Dangana and rolled in from close range despite protestations from the visitors,

Solid attacking from Turriff in the second half would ultimately prove fruitless as the visitors lost out.

Banks o’ Dee had to claw their way back from a two goal deficit to emerge as 4-2 winners over Hermes.

Goals from James Cairns and Jack Craig had the visitors 2-0 up but Lewis Crosbie and Lachie MacLeod brought it back to level pegging just before half time.

It was Mark Gilmour who gave the home side the lead before Michael Philipson added a fourth.

Keith had to wait till the second half to open the scoring against Aberdeen University taking the lead through Przemyslaw Nawrocki only to see the scores leveled by student Kieran Mooney.

A late winner came from Demilade Yunus to give Keith the win.

Inverurie Locos steamrolled current cup holders Fraserburgh thanks to goals from Kieran Shanks and Jamie Michie and an own goal by the Broch's Owen Cairns.

Both goalkeeper Andy Reid and the Loco's woodwork were instrumental in keeping the Broch from scoring,

Inverurie took the lead with a Calum Dingwall’s free-kick which landed for Shanks to finish from close range.

In the second half, with a slender lead, Michie side-footed into the bottom left corner to double the advantage on 64 minutes.

Inverurie sealed victory around the 78 minute mark when a ball across the box from the left was deflected into his own net by Cairns.

First Round - Banks o' Dee 4, Hermes 2; Inverurie Loco Works 3, Fraserburgh 0; Keith 2, Aberdeen University 1; Huntly 1, Turriff United 0.

Quarter-Final Draw - Deveronvale v Huntly; Keith v Banks o' Dee; Buckie Thistle v Formartine United; Inverurie Loco Works v Dyce.

Ties to be played either November 17 or 24.
