Four of Scotland's biggest youth organisations have all been told to suspend activity with immediate effect by their respective headquarters.

Girls Brigade Scotland made the announcement on Saturday that due to growing concerns from leaders, parents, young people and venues that they had decided that the best option was for all meetings and events to be cancelled.

Following the Government's advice to increase social distancing on Monday evening, Boys' Brigade, Scouts UK and Girlguiding UK all announced that group meetings and planned events should be cancelled for the foreseeable future.

All young people and volunteers involved in these organisations should receive communication from either their group leader or organisation headquarters to inform them of the situation.
