KEITH Rotary is encouraging local youngsters to enter competitions the club currently has running.

The club has competitions for budding photographers, writers, film-makers and environmentalists. All four have a closing date of December 6.

Children aged from seven to 17 can take part in the competitions – with junior, intermediate and senior age groups. Cash prizes and certificates are on offer for the top three in each age category.

Winners at local level will progress to district heats, which will take place in January or February. If successful again, children will progress to the national final.

The theme for the young photographer category is wild nature, young writer is my happiest day, young film maker is challenge and young environmentalist is climate change/carbon reduction.
