The 50 casks will go live on the global auction website at 7pm today (Wednesday, December 7), with the sale running until Sunday 11.

Sales will start at £5000 per 200 litre cask and bidders will be able to select the number and type of casks they want to bid on.

The collection includes 30 ex-Oloroso sherry, 15 ex-bourbon and five single grain ex-bourbon casks.

Earlier this year, the company opened its brand-new standalone distillery with a climate-controlled warehouse capable of holding nearly 1000 casks.

The BrewDog Whisky Casks will be the first casks filled at the new distillery in early 2023.

Whisky Hammer, which is also located in Pitmedden, was founded in 2016 by brothers Daniel and Craig Milne.

In 2019, the business relocated to a new, purpose-built facility which is also home to Still Spirit – a whisky shop, e-commerce site and dram bar offering over 100 rare whiskies.

Daniel Milne of Whisky Hammer, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to partner with BrewDog to help auction off the first-ever casks from their new distillery.

“BrewDog is synonymous with quality, award-winning beer, so it’s an exciting prospect to be able to help them launch a whisky that is as bold as its IPA.

“With only 50 casks available, we’re expecting a lot of interest.”
