Rail-replacement buses will travel between the two stations all weekend.

Engineers are replacing a bridge over the Kinloss Burn near Forres, and are carrying out track maintenance at Raigmore level crossing in Inverness.

Ross Moran, route director at Network Rail Scotland, said: “These works are being completed to keep the railway running safely and reliably for passengers on the Aberdeen-Inverness line.

“We are urging passengers to check their journey before travelling on Sunday and we thank them for their understanding during these works.”

Passengers can check their journeys in advance at www.nationalrail.co.uk or with ScotRail.
