Despite the recent rainfall, levels remain below average, directly impacting on the availability of water for those in Aberdeenshire who rely on a private water supply.

Aberdeenshire Council and Scottish Water are asking private water supply users continue to monitor their supply and are mindful of their water usage.

Should a supply be dry or critically low, please contact us via water.admin@aberdeenshire.gov.uk and an officer will contact you to discuss further.

Private water supply users are being encouraged to ensure their supply is secure, with no leaks, consider moving livestock to an alternative supply, take timed showers as opposed to baths, ensure their washing machine and dishwasher are fully loaded when used, harvest rainwater for gardening use and contact their neighbours, from a safe distance, to discuss a contingency plan.

Significant rainfall over a prolonged period is required to replenish some supplies, and this is still not expected in the near future.

For further help in relation to water contact the council by phoning 01467 539539 or email environmental@aberdeenshire.gov.uk
