After hunter pony Strathisla Spartacus was named Reserve Supreme Champion, handler and co-owner Greig Stables said: "He is one of the nicest horses we have ever had."

The yearling colt, out of sire Waxwing Armada and dam Graishall Swanlake, was reserve champion at the Royal Highland Show, champion at the National Pony society and supreme champion at New Deer.

"I am delighted to get the reserve on home turf," added Greig, of Maisley, Keith.

"He will be ready for a rest in the field now."

Greig has been attending and showing at Keith Show for more than 30 years.

"It is great to be back showing (after Covid). It almost feels normal again."

The show concludes today (Monday) with the sheep and cattle championships.
