Mum Kim Gill (38) and daughter Evie Young (8), from Grange, both won titles in different rings at the same time.

Kim was on board her coloured champion, 14-year-old Jiggy, a Welsh part-bred, while Evie was riding her pony Pinelodge Pizazz.

"I am really pleased," said Kim, "as this is his first season out. We were at Turriff and he was second there and he was a champion at Ythan Riding Club.

"We have had him 12 years and he is amazing. He is very much a part of the family. He used to be a working stallion but he was gelded last october."

Jiggy's full Sunday title is Cwmdistaw Jigsaw and is out of sire Whitson Redcar and dam Lexi.

If mum Kim was delighted with Jiggy's display, she was equally proud of daughter Evie and her pony Pizzazz, a 17-year-old Welsh part bred.

"She has been riding since before she could walk," said Kim.

Kim and Evie, a pupil at Crossroads Primary, are mad about their horses and currently have 12 in the family.
