TURRIFF’S Adventure 2 toy sailing ship which has travelling more than 6100km around the world is off on her homeward leg of her travels.

Brothers Ollie and Harry Ferguson hold the original world record with their first version of Adventure which sailed across the Atlantic, but their second boat has now achieved even more than its predecessor.

Adventure 2 had been weaving its way carefully through the Gulf of Mexico, having been found by local supporters in Guyana and Belize.

Having arrived off the coast of Miami the ship was picked up thanks to the Vallejo family and has spent several weeks on dry land as work was done to alter the tracking for the ship to help with its endurance.

Launched back into the Gulf Stream on Sunday, the ship now faces a 4000 mile journey across the Atlantic and had already covered 36 miles in the first 12 hours of sailing.
