The Coastguard are reminding people to ensure their safety when out walking after an incident near Boddam Lighthouse.
A multi agency response was initiated by Aberdeen Coastguard Operations Centre after reports of a child having fallen approximately 10 metres on rocks near Boddam Lighthouse.
The Coastguard rope rescue team from Cruden Bay, Peterhead team and a backup rope rescue team from Banff were mobilised to the scene, alongside Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 151 (Inverness).
Scottish Ambulance Service mobilised an Ambulance and Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA despatched a land crew of paramedic and doctor to the scene.
RNLI Peterhead Lifeboat launched to assist and remained on scene as safety cover for the helicopter operations.
A spokesman for the Coastguard said: "The casualty was accessible over the rocks without requiring technical rope equipment and received treatment at the scene for multiple injuries.
"The difficult location meant an airlift by R151 to a landing site in the lighthouse grounds was considered most appropriate.
"He was then transferred to land ambulance for transport to hospital."
He added: "The coastline can have many hidden dangers, and a simple slip off a path can result in a nasty accident.
"Please stay alert whilst enjoying the coastline, and if you do get into difficulty remember to dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
