A perfectly autumnal day greeted Inverurie And District Men's Shed recently as they gathered to prepare the ground at their new site.

Members Douglas Scott and Bob Shepherd put on a show with their vintage tractors - a grey Ferguson and a Ford Dexter - breaking up and ploughing the ground at the plot at Souterford.

The group hope to start planting out their allotments in spring next year.

Explaining their plans for the allotments, member Graeme Shepherd said: "We will have 22 allotments available to the public and seven for the Mens Shed compound."
