Village set for summer gala fun

Whitehills is in final preparations for its annual summer gala which takes place this weekend.

Organised by the village's playing field association the festivities will be at Blackpots play park on Saturday.

The event promises something to entertain the whole family.

An association spokesman said: "It will kick-off with a football gala, featuring young teams from across the area.

"Highland dancers will take to the main stage and Banff Castle Pipe Band will perform, as well as music throughout the day.

"Stalls will include wheel of fortune, bottle stall and inflatable play equipment for young and old.

"Refreshments will be available from the barbecue, Downies and tuck shop. There will also be a beer tent and wine station."
