Views sought over access to Turriff's Haughs

A drop in session is to be held in Turriff seeking views on improving access to the Haughs.
Aberdeenshire Council has been awarded £30,000 from SUSTRANS’ Scotland Places for Everyone fund to undertake the concept design phase of Turriff’s Haughs Improved Access Project.
Residents are now being encouraged to provide feedback on concept designs for the improved access route for walking and cycling provision at the Haughs.
A public drop-in session is being held on Wednesday, March 25 at Turriff Sports Centre between 2.30pm and 7pm.
The overall aim of the project is to inform preferred and specific walking and cycling measures in a bid to see more journeys of this type.
Aberdeenshire Council’s Formartine area manager, Elaine Brown, said: “In response to previous community engagement work facilitated by council officers through the work of the Haughs Redevelopment Steering Group, it is fantastic to see the improved access project move forward to concept design phase.
“While there is no guarantee to securing the funding to implement this project, this is the first stage of the journey to attempt to get the required funding and we need people to engage.
“I would encourage as many people as possible to come along to the drop-in session and take the opportunity to view the proposals and provide feedback on them.”
