There is set to be plenty to do for young and old alike when a major Celtic music festival gets under way soon.

The heart and soul of Scottish culture will be celebrated in Fochabers this summer at Speyfest 2025, the three-day celebration of folk music and family fun running from Friday-Sunday, July 25-27.

Reaching its 28th edition this year, the 2025 festival boasts one of its biggest programmes to date, Speyfest organisers have selected five of the top things going on across the weekend to get involved in:

1. Ready, Set, Skedaddle!

Kick off your Sunday with the brand-new Speyfest Sunday Skedaddle - a fun and friendly 5K run or walk through the stunning Gordon Castle Estate, hosted in partnership with local outdoor experts Skedaddle Speyside.

Whether you're racing or strolling, you'll be rewarded with a bacon roll and a Speyside dram at the finish line. Starts at 11am, Sunday, July 27.

It is the perfect start to your final festival day, as Skedaddle Speyside Founder Sally Bruce explained: "This is such a fantastic way to bring the community together, especially in a beautiful setting like Speyside.”

2. Stretch It Out with Festival Yoga.

Speyfest 2025 showcases an exceptional lineup of folk music stars that you won’t want to miss. Skipinnish, fresh off their 25th anniversary tour in 2024, bring their trademark energy and crowd-pleasing performance.

Multi award-winning Scottish singer-songwriter Siobhan Miller enchants audiences with her soulful vocals and compelling storytelling. Meanwhile, Canada’s The East Pointers bring feel-good energy, heartfelt song writing, and infectious rhythms that are sure to light up the stage on their Speyfest debut.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers will close the festival on Sunday night with their renowned party atmosphere set.

Speyfest Chair Ashleigh Macgregor said: “This year’s line-up is set to be one of our most exciting yet, with incredible talent gracing our stages, surprise performances around the village, and a vibrant mix of activities for all ages – it really represents our love of music and its power to connect and entertain.”
