There was some fun fundraising in Inverurie this week as pupils at Uryside Primary took to inflatables to help raise much needed cash.

As head teacher Kim Dodd explained: "The pupil council at Uryside School identified a need for some permanent sports equipment such as football goals, basket ball and netball equipment for the shchools outdoor Multi Use Games Area.

"To make this a reality, they identified that we would have to raise funds as the equipment was going to cost around £4000.

"This was when the idea of an active, sponsored event came about.

After discussion and consideration of a number of ideas, it was decided that having the whole school active and having fun by ‘bouncing’ for the whole day to celebrate the arrival of Spring would be our focus.

We are very grateful to all parents, carers, families and members of the community who have supported us either by helping or by sponsoring pupils. All donations will contribute towards the development of our sports provision – not just for learning experiences in school but for extra-curricular and community engagement events.
