Aberdeenshire Council is advising motorists that the road across the Balnakettle Bridge to the north of Newmachar is now closed for urgent repairs to the structure.

Users of the Formartine and Buchan Way should note that while it was previously indicated that the line would remain open during these works, due to practicalities encountered on site the path now needs to be closed.

It is anticipated that the works will be completed within one working week.

The road will be closed at Bridgend Terrace in Turriff

Elsewhere drivers in the Turriff area are reminded that the C22S (Turriff to Thorneybank road) between the junctions of B9024 (Bridgend Terrace in Turriff) and C25S will be subject to a closure from November 8 for 12 days to allow safe access for road drainage works to be carried out by Aberdeenshire Council.

A signed diversion will be via C22S (B9001), B9001 (Badenscoth), B992 (Auchterless), A947 (Turriff), Bridgend Terrace and vice versa.
