Update: Council cancels bridge planned bridge closure due to flow conditions

Planned inspection works which would have seen the closure of the Deveron Bridge in Turriff on Friday morning have been called off due to safety fears.

A spokesman for the council said: "Please be informed that the dive survey scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) at Deveron Bridge has been cancelled as it is not safe to carry out this work in current flow conditions.

"We will now replan the survey and will let the public know when a new date has been agreed.

"In the meantime we will closely monitor the bridge so that it can remain open in the interim."
