Turriff advance to Cross-Country Cup second round

Turriff United are amongst Highland League clubs who are currently participating in the Donate a Ticket Cross-Country Cup which is now into its second round

The scheme which encourages fans for pay for tickets to the league games which did not take place is already making a massive difference to club’s funds throughout Scotland.

32 clubs spread across Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland started out including Turriff, Inverurie, Buckie, Forres, Fort William, Huntly, Keith, Nairn, Rothes and Wick

The first round draw which was made on Thursday evening saw Turriff United away to Glenrothes FC which was played over three days and saw United supporters back them to win 39-26 over the Fife side.

Inverurie Locos played at home to Eastbourne Borough winning out 22-9 while Keith edged out rivals Huntly 46-41.

Top scorers in the first round were Bonnyrigg Rose with a 257-195 win over Luncarty FC while Rothes vs Northwood went to extra time after a 136-136 draw which has held up the second round draw.
