Richard Lochhead says the UK Government is "threatening Scotland's recovery" by failing to provide the investment the economy and public need.

Mr Lochhead has also criticised today's decision by the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, to impose a pay freeze on public sector pay.

Speaking today, Moray's MSP said: "Only the flag waving Conservative Party could confirm it’s splashing tens of millions on a Brexit festival at the same time as announcing the slashing of the wages of public sector workers who have got us through this pandemic.

"For months now the Scottish Government has called on the UK Government to deliver a £98 billion package of support for the economy and our public services to secure a fair and full recovery from the pandemic.

"Instead of delivering that, the Chancellor announced plans that will threaten Scotland’s recovery by slashing pay for millions of workers.

"The fact that the Tories are wasting millions of pounds on a Brexit festival while they slash public sector pay, tells you everything you need to know about this government’s priorities."
