Turriff's Divas in the Den show their support for suicide prevention charity and Scottish Huntingtons Association

The fourth annual Turriff Show Ladies Day which took this year in June had the theme ‘Divas in the Den and has raised £22,872 thanks to the generosity of participants and supporters.

The money raised will help TWSPP and Scottish Huntingtons Association continue their fantastic work, help raise awareness and offer support to people across the North East and through-out Scotland and Turriff District Agricultural Association.

Scottish Huntington’s Association, TWSPP (The World Suicide Prevention Project) and Turriff Show will each receive £7624.

Scottish Huntington’s Association will ringfence this money to stay within the Grampian area, at our request. It will help fund their HD Specialist and Financial Wellbeing service to operate in Grampian.

TWSPP will use their money to put towards their new drop-in centre, that is due to open in Fraserburgh in December. The money will go towards

keeping their service running so they have face to face support available for anyone who wants to walk in, and to support the groups they have running on a Wednesday night. They hope to be able to run more groups now that they have their own facility.

Turriff Show is facing ever increasing costs, and this money will help towards this.

The ladies enjoyed lunch provided by the Kastille and then an afternoon of entertainment hosted by compere Steven J Innes.

The star entertainment, which had been kept a closely guarded secret until the day, was The Official Globe Girls who are a captivating collection of drag queens whose fabulous wigs, costumes and high heels created a show which will not be forgotten !.

Announcing the total this week, spokesperson Fiona Gray said: "A mention must be made to all you fabulous folks who attended, helped support and put the event together back in July.

“We are so grateful for the support of all the people, and businesses who helped our event be the success it was, through sponsorship, donation of auction and raffle prizes and of course the ladies who attended on the day.”

"Thank you all for your generous contributions. Without you, none of this would have been possible."
