A Turriff hair and beauty salon has been shortlisted in three categories of the prestigious North Scotland Hair And Beauty Industry Awards.

The awards seek to highlight the best businesses offering their services to people in the north of Scotland, and Lux Hair And Beauty - situated in The Square, Turriff - are in the running for Beauty Salon Of The Year, Hair Salon Of The Year and Lux's Abbie Gauld has been shortlisted for Colour Technician Of The Year.

The organisers say that they had a difficult time whittling down the nomination to select finalists due to the "incredibly high" standard of entries, and they have extended their gratitude to both their "high calibre judges" and everybody who was nominated saying "everyone that entered these awards is a winner in our eyes".

They went on to write: ""Thank you so much to every single one of you that entered the competition this year, a year which can only be described as hugely challenging.

"It's been an incredibly difficult year so far, which makes judging each entry even more challenging.

"Reaching consensus on finalists for any award during any normal time is difficult enough, let along with the ongoing pandemic fears."

Lux's Abbie Gauld said: "It has been amazing for us, we really did come back full of enthusiasm and excitement to get back to work after such a strange uncertain year and we are so happy with the three nominations.

"Even without winning to even be finalists in three categories is absolutely amazing.

"I know a lot of salons apply to these awards so being finalists would really end such a hard year for everyone on a high.

"We always come together and muck in at Lux, everyone treats it like their own and it's nice for the team and for our clients to know we are worthy of being finalists for such a highly respected awards ceremony. "

The team at Lux are delighted to be finalists in this year's Scottish Hair And Beauty Awards.
