A man who died following a road crash on the M90 near Perth has been formally identified.

He was Kenneth Cheyne (55) from Turriff.

Mr Cheyne was the driver and sole occupant of a lorry carrying bags of potatoes which left the road while travelling southbound near Junction 10 around 7.20am on Thursday, November 4 and which landed on the carriageway below.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant John Learmonth of the Road Policing Unit in Perth said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Cheyne’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage who hasn’t yet spoken to an officer to get in touch.
