SMALL grants of up to £750 are on offer for community groups to assist those in Moray hit hardest by the pandemic.

On behalf of Foundation Scotland, Third Sector Interface Moray (tsiMORAY) will be distributing £5000 to charities and constituted community groups with a bank account that support those living with poor, interrupted or impaired access to food, shelter and necessary amenities.

Community groups helping vulnerable people in their area could be eligible for a grant of up to £750. Groups supporting people with the most essential needs such as food, housing and basic necessities, like heating, are encouraged to apply.

tsiMORAY, along with the rest of the Third Sector Interface network, has been asked by Foundation Scotland to be one of its strategic partners to deliver the second phase of the Response, Resilience and Recovery Fund.

Edward Fitsell, funding and governance officer at tsiMORAY, said: "We want to make sure these funds can have the most impact possible.

"Community groups that are supporting people in emergency situations know what is happening in their local area. They can see where people are exposed or vulnerable and this fund is here to support that."

The deadline for applications is 9am on Monday, November 23. All applications will be considered after this date.

Groups will receive notification about the outcome of applications by Friday, December 11, and successful organisations will receive the funds by the end of December.

Mr Fitsell added: "No community has been left untouched by this pandemic.

"We are proud to be able to work in this partnership with Foundation Scotland to distribute these funds. It is a partnership that aims to make sure funding gets to the people who need it most."
