VisitAberdeenshire strengthens team with two new appointments





A tourism body has appointed two new recruits - strengthening the organisation as it heads into 2025.

VisitAberdeenshire has welcomed Nikki Walters who joins as partnerships manager, a new role to source opportunities for funding, sponsorship and other income generation that will support the growth of the visitor economy.

She joins following 28 years at Wood, in accounting and treasury roles.

Ashleigh Pirie is VisitAberdeenshire’s new marketing manager, focusing on delivering a digital transformation project, including a revamped online presence and AI integration.

Ashleigh joins with 13 years’ experience in campaign delivery, product development and digital marketing, most recently with energy job board Rigzone.

Chris Foy, CEO of VisitAberdeenshire, said: “Nikki and Ashleigh bring a wealth of experience and transferable skills from the energy sector and will spearhead exciting new projects this year and beyond.”

VisitAberdeenshire is also part of the AI Opener for Destinations programme, an initiative that brings global destinations together to explore AI, as it changes the landscape of travel booking, the user experience and inspiration for consumers.

Mr Foy added: “In order to meet our ambition to be the leading destination in Scotland, we’re joining other destination organisations from across Europe to understand how to harness the potential of AI in tourism, keeping VisitAberdeenshire at the forefront of new technologies to achieve competitive advantage.”
