North-east Tourism Conference will welcome industry representatives
The highly anticipated North-East Tourism Conference will open its doors next month.
Organised and hosted by VisitAberdeenshire, the event will bring together tourism industry leaders, business owners and officials for a day of networking, learning and looking forward to 2025.
Hosted by BBC Scotland journalist Fiona Stalker, the conference focuses on three essential themes in the tourism sector: “Our Visitors”, “Our People and Businesses” and “Our Place”.
It will be held at P&J Live on Tuesday, November 19.
Double Grammy Award winner and north-east native Dame Evelyn Glennie will share her unique perspective on the importance of a listening culture in tourism, and what small steps businesses can implement to ensure a fully inclusive welcome for all.
Taking to the stage will be new VisitScotland CEO Vicki Miller to highlight her priorities for the sustainable growth of Scottish tourism.
Also included in the line-up of speakers is Donna McHugh, head of revenue and sales at Loganair, and Rebecca Brooks, managing director of Abbey UK and UKinbound chairwoman, providing insight into what inbound visitors are looking for from their visit to Scotland and the north-east.
Chris Foy, CEO of VisitAberdeenshire, said: “As we edge closer to the North-east Tourism Conference, the event will be a crucial platform for discussing new ideas, building partnerships and ensuring that our region’s tourism offering remains vibrant, competitive and resilient.
“We look forward to welcoming tourism businesses, experts and thought leaders from across Scotland to collaborate on shaping a sustainable and thriving future for the north-east.”
P&J Live is the host venue and will welcome delegates to the conference.
Rob Wicks, managing director of P&J Live, said: “I am delighted to be a part of the North-east Scotland Tourism Conference as it’s welcomed back after five years.
“It’s crucial for all stakeholders in the tourism sector, including P&J Live, to come together and understand how we can collaborate to maximise the tourism potential of our city and shire.
“The more joined-up thinking we can implement around flagship events, the more attractive the event programme and range of experiences will be for our local, national and international visitors.
“Through collaboration we can enhance an already strong tourism offering and benefit the local economy for future years.”
Mr Foy added: “The combination of inspirational speakers, thought-provoking conversation and the state-of-the-art venue at P&J Live makes for an event not to be missed.”
