Society chairman John West said: "It is intended to feature different events over the period of the exhibition thus the opening displays will be changed during the exhibition.

"The society was formed last year with the aim of preserving and advancing the local heritage by collecting and displaying artefacts and bringing the history of the town to the notice of everyone.

"Macduff was founded as a fishing community and continues to have strong links to the industry including of course the shipyard.

"The society are however keen to reflect all aspects of the life of the community to include not only fishing but the various religious groups, local societies, Tarlair swimming pool and the various facets which made the town what it is today."
