Buckie area streets to shut over coming week as Scottish Water roadworks set to get under way





Roadworks are set to close three local roads over the course of the coming week.

On Main Street, Buckpool, Buckie Scottish Water are scheduled to complete sewer repairs by May 20. A diversion is in place following A990 Main Street, A990, A942, A98 and A990.

Up the town at Banff Street, the firm will be working over May 16-17 to effect ironworks repairs outside No 12. The diversion will take drivers along Banff Street, West Church Street, North Pringle Street and Railway Terrace.

Over at No 104a Seatown, Cullen the company will be undertaking ironworks repairs over May 16-17, Drivers are advised to use adjacent streets.

In Fochabers, the Gordon Castle Highland Games on Sunday, May 18 will see a prohibition of waiting order in force from the junction of West Street to 50m west of the castle.

Ditching works will see Moray Council on site on the A98 from the A942 at Smithstown to the A942 east of Inchgower, Buckie until Wednesday.

The local authority are also undertaking carriageway patching at March Road over the same timeframe. On the same road, just south of the maltings, they are due to finish creating a new access by Monday, May 19.

Openreach are due to begin excavation work outside 13 Shearer Avenue in Buckie at some point over May 12-13 for three working days.

On both sides of the A98 from Arradoul to the Oran junction the council will be doing ditching works starting between May 13-14 for three working days.

The local authority are scheduled to end footway repairs on Station Road, Portgordon by Monday.

Just up the road opposite Crossroad Cottage the council will be undertaking drainage investigations for two working days from May 15-16.
