Three men, aged 40, 22 and 17 years, have been arrested and charged following a spate of alleged thefts across South Aberdeenshire.

Between August 4 and August 18, reports were made to police that number of tools and agricultural equipment were allegedly stolen from outbuildings and storage containers in areas including Alford, Banchory and Fettercairn.

The three men are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday, October 6.

Detective constable Katy-Jo Reid, Police Scotland, said: "Rural crime is very much a priority for police and we would urge communities to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police.

"Anyone wishing to seek advice in terms of Crime Prevention should contact their local police station."
