Elgin Academy pupils hand money and soup to Moray Food Plus

School pupils who “wanted to support the community” have handed money and soup to a food bank.

Home Economics pupils at Elgin Academy ran a Farmers’ Market in December - and have donated the funds raised and some of the remaining items to Moray Food Plus.

Karen Ainslie, principal teacher of Home Economics at the school, said: “The HE department and pupils wanted to give back to the community and do something nice to support those less fortunate.

“We made a donation to the food bank and donated our remaining Baxters curried chicken and vegetable soup, which was designed by pupils and produced by Baxters.”

Moray Food Plus visited the Academy to receive the generous donation, which was handed over by pupil James Wiseman.
