STRATHBOGIE Junior Agricultural Club donated funds to Huntly OAP Club after a meeting of the two in February.

On Wednesday, February 15, the two groups came together for a whist night – before the young farmers handed over a cheque for £300 to Huntly OAP Club.

The annual gathering of the groups, which was returning after the coronavirus pandemic, was attended by around 30 people.

Ashley Leggat, of Strathbogie Junior Agricultural Club, said: "A great night was had by all.

"We usually try to do this every year but we haven't been able to in the past few years, so it was fine to get back together.

"They enjoy the night and we do too – it's a good laugh and we always make a piece and a cup of tea to have with them afterwards."

Ashley added that the group aim to donate between £1000 and £1500 to local clubs throughout the course of a year.

The money has been raised during the year by Burns Suppers and dances, with a recent donation also going to Buckie RNLI.
