Each year the museum draws hundreds of classic and vintage vehicle owners from across Scotland for a series of events showcasing both manufacturers as on AllFord day and the rarer editions of mass produced cars on How Many Left day.

With events curtailed for the next few months, owners including members of Turriff and District Vintage and Classic Club, while working and maintaining vehicles have been missing out of the rally event spirit that brings so many of them together to meetings such as Fennel in Inverurie's V8 Sunday morning meet-ups and the May Day event in Turriff.

But for those who are sitting at home, one of the well known companies who produce the distinctive event plates seen on cars have come up with a Stay at Home fundraiser.

A spokesman explained: "We've designed these limited edition Rally Plates in support of the NHS - for the 'Stay Home Rally' 2020.

"Our aim is to sell 1000 Rally Plates and we want owners to help us smash this target and raise as much as we can for our Heroes in the NHS.

" The plates come ready punched with four holes and complete with two ties per plate.

"You can also purchase suction cups which can be used to fix the plate to the inside of any window.

"The Rally Plates are made from shatterproof and weather-proof polypropylene and are printed in full colour and are dated 2020."

He continud: "Our amazing NHS staff and volunteers are working tirelessly to care for COVID-19 patients.

"And we want them to know the country has also got their back.

"We are so proud and in awe of NHS staff and volunteers as they work tirelessly to save lives!"
