Thursday, December 12 at 6.30pm will see all invited to the third Carols in the Square, with audience participation very much encouraged.

Leading the parade of festive songs will be Buckie Community Choir. For the first time they will be joined by children from the choirs of local primary schools.

A varied list of carols and festive songs is on the menu, ranging from traditional favourites through to more modern takes on the season. A total of 14 songs in all are scheduled to ring out across the square during the course of the event.

Special guest for the evening is Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire Tricia Lawson, who is due to say a few words to the gathered audience near the end of the service

Set to feature again at the event will be three community trees of remembrance. Message baubles for the trees are available for a suggested donation of £1 each from a variety of local outlets. Once completed, these should be returned to the place of purchase by Tuesday, November 10.

Last year saw around 600 baubles sold containing a variety of messages and wishes.

Hot refreshments will be available for purchase at the service.
