Would-be racing drivers got to put their skills to the test in home made creations during 1st Marnoch Scout troop's soapbox race.

Racers of all ages took to the course in Aberchirder to see if their carts could make it to the bottom.

The race started behind the church at the top of main street and the drivers and their soap boxes had to negotiate gravel roads in woodland areas, tarmac, jumps and tricky hairpin bends.

The finish line was in front of the village's council depot at North Street.

The group said it was grateful to J and M Barron Plumbing and Heating Engineers; Aberchirder and District Men's Shed, Peter Guy's Home Improvement and McLaren's Garage for sponsoring the prizes.
