PEOPLE are being invited to enjoy classic Shakespearean comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, at Duff House in Banff on Saturday (July 9).

The comedy features two young lovers, Claudio and Hero, caught up in a malicious scheme that threatens their big day.

Meanwhile marriage seems inconceivable for the bantering Beatrice and Benedick, Shakespeare’s wittiest and most loveable pair of reluctant lovers, whose endless sparring threatens to keep them apart forever.

Watch the story unfold as the Folksy Theatre Company brings this production to Duff House as part of Historic Environment Scotland’s (HES) 2022 summer events programme.

Stephen Duncan, director of marketing and engagement at HES, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the Folksy Theatre Company to bring this classic Shakespearean production to Duff House.

"This is part of our popular events programme, returning for the first time in two years, following the pandemic.

"We are looking forward to welcoming new and returning visitors to enjoy a range of fun-packed, historically-based live performances and interactive experiences across participating sites, while exploring Scotland’s rich heritage.”

Tickets for Much Ado About Nothing can be purchased through Historic Environment Scotland’s ticket store.

Doors open at 6.45pm with the performance due to start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm.
