Top Sellars wrack up 429 years service in Moray and Aberdeenshire as staff from Forres, Huntly and Oldmeldrum were presented with RNAS long service awards

The Royal Northeren Agricultural Society's Spring Show which was held at Thainstone on Wednesday saw the annual recognition of long service for members of the agricultural community.

Some 15 recipients were welcomed to the show by host Eddie Gillanders on behalf of the Society, 11 of them from agricultural machinery and parts firm Sellars.

Between them, the 11 staff members marked almost 429 years of employment and were presented with their certificates by RNAS directors Eric Mutch and John McWilliam.

They were: David Reid, 30 years, six months, Huntly; Alexander Sharp, 31 years, Forres and Huntly; Catherine McAllister, 32 years two months, Forres; Michael Reid, 34 years 11 months, Forres; Ada Noble, 34 years 11 months, Forres; George Wilson, 35 years nine months, Oldmeldrum; Brenda Taylor, 39 years eight months, Oldmeldrum; Leslie Fraser, 44 years eight months, Maud and Oldmeldrum; James Guild, 44 years nine months, Oldmeldrum; Edward Milne, 46 years 10 months, Huntly and Bruce Cargill, 53 years nine months, Forres and Oldmeldrum.

Joining them were four other recipients: George Metcalfe for 30 years with J and J Mark, Mains of Pitlurg, Keith; Robert Kane, 30 years and eight months with A A Webster and Sons, Derbeth, Kingswells; Gilbert Reid, 50 years three months with the Simmers Family, Mains of Bogfechel, Whiterashes and Harry Duncan, 50 years and five month with Ross Bross, Wardhead Strichen.

Between the 15 recipients, their total amassed time equated to 589 years and two months.
